الحمد لله القويّ العزيز الجبّار، القائل: “وَلَوْلَا دَفْعُ اللَّهِ النَّاسَ بَعْضَهُم بِبَعْضٍ لَّفَسَدَتِ الْأَرْضُ” والصلاة والسلام على سيّدنا محمدٍ المبعوث رحمةً للعالمين، وبعد:
في جرح جديد من جراح هذه الأمّة المكلومة، امتدّت أيدي الإجرام الصهيوني إلى دمشق ومناطق أخرى في سوريا العزيزة كالسويداء وحوران فأمطرتها حقدًا ونارًا، وقصفت مواقع جيشها وأمنها بجبن المعتدي الذي يستقوي بضعف العرب والمسلمين وتخاذلهم وصمتهم المريب؛ فارتقى شهداء، وسالت دماء، فيما تنظر الأمة من بعيد، كأنما وقع القصف على كوكب آخر!
ونحن في هيئة علماء فلسطين، إذ نستشعر ألم الجراح في صدر كل سوري وفلسطيني وعربي ومسلم، نرفع صوتنا عاليًا، نكسر جدار الصمت، ونقول للعالم بلسان الحق الصريح:
أولاً: إنّ هذا العدوان الصهيوني الغاشم على دمشق وأرض سوريا هو جريمة كبرى لا تغتفر، وعدوانٌ على كرامة كل عربيٍّ ومسلم، لا على شعبٍ بعينه؛ وهو إعلان حرب على الأمّة جمعاء، واستخفاف بدماء أبنائها وجيوشها، وامتداد للعدوان المستمر على غزة، ورسالة إهانة إلى كل عاصمة عربية ومسلمة صامتة تكتفي بالتنديد الباهت أو بيانات الشجب العقيمة.
ثانياً: إنّ الذي يتوهّم أن النار ستقف عند أسوار دمشق مخدوع، فالصواريخ التي دكت دمشق وغيرها من مواقع سوريا اليوم، لن تتردد غدًا أن تدك أنقرة وإسطنبول، والدوحة والرياض، والقاهرة وبغداد، وسائر العواصم التي لا تزال تظن أن لها حصانة من نار العدوّ. ألم تروا كيف أُكل الثور الأبيض يوم أُكل الأسود؟!
ثالثاً: إنّ سكوت الحكومات العربية والإسلامية عن هذا الإجرام خيانة لواجبها، وتفريطٌ بحقّ الأمة، وتآمر على حاضرها ومستقبلها. وإننا نحمّلها أمام الله والتاريخ والشعوب مسؤولية هذا الصمت المخزي، ونطالبها بالتحرك الفوري لتشكيل جبهة ردع حقيقية توقف العدوان، وتكسر أنف المعتدي، قبل أن ينفلت حقده على الجميع.
رابعاً: نؤكّد أن الدفاع عن دمشق ليس فقط دفاعاً عن سوريا، بل عن القدس وغزة ومكة والمدينة، وعن كل ذرة شرف في هذه الأمة؛ ومن هنا فإننا ندعو الشعب السوري المجاهد الذي هزم الطاغية المجرم إلى مواجهة هذا العدوان الصهيوني الغاشم بكل السبل المتاحة الممكنة؛ وندعوه إلى التسلح بوحدة الصف وتوحيد الكلمة لردع العدو الصهيوني الذي يريد بسوريا وشعبها شرًا.
خامساً: إنّنا ندعو الشعوب إلى أن تهزّ ضمائر حكوماتها هزًّا، وأن تصرخ في وجهها: إلى متى العجز؟! إلى متى الصمت؟! إلى متى ننتظر أن يدوس العدو عتبات بيوتنا ونحن ننظر؟!
يا أهلنا في العواصم الغافية: البارحة غزة التي ما تزال تباد على مرأى الأمة جمعاء واليوم دمشق، وغدًا أنتم، وما بعد غدٍ نحن جميعًا؛ فمن لم يغضب اليوم لدمشق لن يغضب غدًا على بيته وأهله وعرضه.
نسأل الله أن يتقبّل الشهداء، ويشفي الجرحى، وينصر أمتنا، ويذلّ أعداءنا، ويوقظ قلوب الغافلين من سباتهم.
﴿وَإِنْ تَتَوَلَّوْا يَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُونُوا أَمْثَالَكُمْ﴾ محمد: 38

Statement by the Palestinian Scholars Association on the Zionist Aggression against Damascus and Various Syrian Regions
In the name of Allah, the Almighty, the All-Powerful, the Compeller, Who said:
“Were it not for Allah’s repelling some people by means of others, the earth would have been corrupted…” (Surah Al-Baqarah: 251)
And peace and blessings be upon our master Muhammad, sent as a mercy to the worlds.

In yet another wound among the many wounds of this grieving Ummah, the hands of Zionist criminality have reached Damascus and other dear regions of Syria—such as Suwayda and Hauran—showering them with hatred and fire. Their cowardly bombardment targeted military and security sites, emboldened by the weakness, betrayal, and suspicious silence of Arab and Muslim governments. Martyrs have fallen, blood has been shed—while the Ummah stands watching, as though the bombs fell on another planet!
We, in the Palestinian Scholars Association, while sensing the pain in every Syrian, Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim heart, raise our voices high, breaking the wall of silence, and declare to the world with the voice of unwavering truth:

First: This barbaric Zionist aggression against Damascus and Syrian land is a major unforgivable crime, and an attack on the dignity of every Arab and Muslim, not just one people. It is a declaration of war against the entire Ummah, a mockery of its blood and armies, and a continuation of the assault on Gaza. It is also a message of humiliation to every silent Arab and Muslim capital, which limits its response to weak condemnation or meaningless press releases.

Second: Whoever imagines that the fire will stop at Damascus is deluded. The missiles that bombed Damascus and other Syrian sites today will not hesitate tomorrow to strike Ankara, Istanbul, Doha, Riyadh, Cairo, Baghdad, and all other capitals that still think they are immune from the flames of the enemy. Have you not heard of the fate of the white bull the day the black one was devoured?

Third: The silence of Arab and Islamic governments in the face of this criminal aggression is a betrayal of their duty, a failure in their responsibility toward the Ummah, and a conspiracy against its present and future. We hold them accountable before Allah, history, and the people—and we call on them to immediately form a real deterrent front that can stop the aggression and break the arrogance of the attacker—before his hatred spills over everyone.

Fourth: Defending Damascus is not merely a defense of Syria. It is a defense of Jerusalem, Gaza, Makkah, Madinah, and every grain of honor in this Ummah. Therefore, we call upon the resilient Syrian people—who have previously defeated the criminal tyrant—to confront this Zionist aggression with every available and legitimate means. And we urge them to arm themselves with unity of ranks and word, for the enemy’s aim is destruction and division.

Fifth: We call on the peoples of the Ummah to shake the consciences of their governments, to cry out:
“Until when this incapacity? Until when this silence? Until when will we watch the enemy reach our doorsteps while we stand by idle?!”
O people in your sleepy capitals: yesterday it was Gaza, and it is still being annihilated before the eyes of the Ummah. Today it is Damascus, and tomorrow it will be you, and the day after—all of us.
He who does not grieve for Damascus today, will not grieve for his own home and family tomorrow.

We ask Allah to accept the martyrs, heal the wounded, grant victory to our Ummah, humiliate our enemies, and awaken the hearts of the heedless from their slumber.
“If you turn away, He will replace you with another people, and they will not be like you.”
